- State / Circle Competition: States with high board exam scores (such as UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, and MP) usually see cut-offs as high as 95% to 98%.
- Branch Post Office (BO) Preference: The candidate with the highest percentage applying for a specific post Office gets selected for that seat.
- Subsequent Merit Lists (1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Lists): If shortlisted candidates fail document verification or do not join, India post releases further merit lists where the cut-off percentage drops by 3% to 8%.

- Educational Qualification: Must have passed Class 10th with passing marks in Mathematics and English from a recognized board.

- No Written Exam: India Post GDS recruitment mein koi written exam nahi hota. Selection 10th class ke marks ke bassis par merit list se hota hai.
- Circle Preference: Online form bharte samay apne rearby circles aur posts ko carefully select kare.
